StraBe Design Forge delivers bespoke street furniture, shelters and public infrastructure for projects across Australia. We work with architects, councils, landscape architects, developers and contractors to design, manufacture and deliver custom solutions for civic spaces, streetscapes, parks, education precincts and transport environments.
Whether you need design support, a fully bespoke outcome, or help turning existing plans into buildable public infrastructure, StraBe combines design thinking, fabrication expertise and local manufacturing capability to move projects from concept through to delivery.
Our bespoke capability spans street furniture, outdoor shelters, bicycle parking, drinking fountains, bollards, litter bins and enclosures, tree grates and planters, and bus shelters. Each solution is developed to align with project intent, site conditions, durability requirements and long-term public use.
From Concept To Deliver
Every Design Forge project moves through three connected phases.
The exact process is tailored to the scale and complexity of the project, but the objective remains the same: to protect the design intent while creating a solution that can be manufactured, installed and maintained in a real public environment.
Design
We begin with your project brief, architectural intent, site context and performance requirements.
Some projects start with a developed concept from an architect or landscape architect. Others begin with a site challenge, reference image, performance brief or blank sheet.
Depending on the project, the design phase may include:
- initial concept development
- 3D CAD modelling
- conceptual and photorealistic renders
- dimensional drawings
- material and finish studies
- product configuration and spatial planning
- accessibility and ergonomic considerations
- early buildability and installation review
Materials and finishes are considered in relation to the project’s design language, expected use, maintenance requirements and environmental exposure.
Central to the development stage, a bespoke streetscape solution by StraBe is more than just modern aesthetics, it is a design that embodies functionality, accessibility, ergonomics, durability, and so much more.
Develop
Once the preferred direction has been established, the concept is refined into a practical and manufacturable solution.
Our design, engineering and fabrication teams work together to consider:
- structural requirements
- product dimensions and configurations
- component detailing
- material selection
- fixings and mounting methods
- durability and vandal resistance
- maintenance and replacement access
- fabrication methods
- site and installation constraints
- prototyping where required
Because development and manufacturing are connected within StraBe, potential fabrication or installation issues can be identified before they become site problems.
Deliver
In the final stages of production, your allocated project consultant will reach out to arrange delivery of your new street furniture, supplied with detailed installation guidelines, ready for fast installation by the contractor.
With a full record of design and manufacturing data on file, your bespoke designs will remain in our system for years to come in case you require a repeat order, replacement parts, or aftercare for the product’s life.
All streetscape modules from StraBe may be surface mounted and come with a two-year manufacturer’s warranty to cover any unlikely manufacturing defects.
